I studied Communication Design at Pearl Academy, then left in my 3rd year to pursue music. That decision led me through songwriting, production, photography — and eventually into the craft of art direction. I'd been doing it all along. I just didn't have a name for it.
Today I work across Delhi and beyond — co-founding Saraab Prop Shop with my sister Pallavi Gupta, designing sets for Warner Music, Durex, Zomato, Triumph, and building KALCO, my personal lifestyle brand.
Began studying Communication Design at Pearl Academy, New Delhi — learning typography, branding, visual communication, and the grammar of aesthetics. Discovered a deep love for image-making and visual storytelling.
Shot fashion editorials and portraits across Delhi. Served as retainer photographer for Humans of Bombay — shooting portraits of social workers, high-net-worth personalities, and young prodigies to accompany their interview stories. The camera became a way of thinking — about light, about people, about stories hidden in a single frame. Without knowing it, was already practising art direction: curating sets, moods, narrative.
Left college in 3rd year to pursue music full-time. Wrote, sang, produced. Built a sonic world from scratch. One of the most honest decisions ever made — and the one that eventually led back to the visual world with a much richer perspective.
While on a break from photography and deep in music, stumbled into the world of professional art direction through sister and first mentor Pallavi Gupta. Realised the craft had a name — and a whole world of technique behind it.
